The Biostrap wristband device uses Infra-RED LEDs as an optical PPG reader, which can record a very high-definition pulse, but can not record heart-rate when you are moving.

Therefore, Biostrap sells external heart-rate monitors to record active heart rate during exercising.

With the active heart rate collected using the external HRM during the workout, Biostrap can provide you with the following additional information:

  1. Computed calories expended during the workout
  2. Various cardio zones displayed during the workout
        e.g., fat-burning zone, Dynamic High-Intensity Workout, etc.
